Many people don’t know what to expect from counselling. My approach is to help you explore your thoughts and feelings, developing coping techniques together when appropriate.
I believe in working together with a client in a collaborative supportive relationship exploring the current problem or set of symptoms which have brought them to seek counselling now.
Together we focus on what you want; we seek ways together to improve how you cope , activate your own coping mechanisms and explore how you feel you can effect change in your life and your relationships.
You may wish to set goals and discuss specific coping strategies which we can explore and agree together. Some life events present difficulties which may suggest a longer term piece of work may be necessary but this is your choice.
